Laser Cutting
USA Dutch offers state-of-the-art laser cutting services with a Mitsubishi model 2512HV-20CF laser cutting system. This laser fabrication system features a 2000 Watt CO2 laser resonator and a hybrid laser beam delivery system, plus all the features you'd expect from one of the top laser system manufacturers.
USA Dutch can laser cut metal parts up to the following thicknesses:
Mild steel - |
.625" |
Stainless steel - |
.312" |
Aluminum - |
.312" |
These are impressive statistics for a 2000 Watt laser. Even more impressive is the edge quality of sheet metal parts produced by this laser. An important part of USA Dutch's commitment to quality is to make cosmetically attractive parts, parts that feel good in your hand. The Mitsubishi laser makes this goal very easy to accomplish.
Laser cutting offers many advantages over punching for certain types of sheet metal parts. A laser offers better material utilization than a CNC punch in many cases, especially for parts with radius corners. A laser typically offers better edge quality than a CNC punch. And a laser is much better at making parts with complex geometry, large holes, or odd-shaped cutouts. You'll never need to pay for custom tooling with a laser.
Nevertheless, punching is preferred for many sheet metal parts. Punching is typically faster than laser cutting, especially in thicker materials. Parts with many holes are also made much more quickly with a CNC punch than with a laser. And a CNC punch is necessary for punching features such as louvers, knockouts, and countersinks.
Because lasers and CNC punches are each preferred for different things, a complete sheetmetal fabrication shop needs both types of machines. A shop that has only lasers or a shop that has only punches is limited in the types of parts it can do cost-effectively. USA Dutch has both technologies, and that's why we say...
